About Marty

I am a retired high school administrator and former nurse who was raised in rural Hunterdon County, New Jersey. My father was a photographer; so I grew up with a camera in my hands. My farming roots, love of nature, gardening and my hobby of photography finally led me to combine these interests into a fulltime career.

In the hustle and bustle of our noisy and stressful life, Marty knows the importance of taking time for quiet reflection. The serenity of her images encourages the viewer to breathe in the often-overlooked beauty and peace that nature can provide. Her images are captured with a painter’s eye for color, texture and overall beauty. Preferring to capitalize on nature’s special effects instead of special filters, Marty’s photography “reveals the ART in nATuRe” ™

I use several cameras, a Nikon F100 (35mm), Nikon D100 with a wide variety of lenses, a Sony DSC-F828 & an H5. I believe that often the best subjects are in my own backyard, as one can see observe when they see my various images. I thrive on photographically exploring nature; botanical, seascapes and landscapes in great detail and love to get “up close & personal with my subjects. An accomplished “green thumber”, my many gardens provide subject matter for my popular bird, butterfly and flower images.

I also enjoy capturing the essence of a baby’s, child’s or pet’s personality by working in their natural environment, on location, versus a studio. I have recently expanded my services to include all aspects of commercial photography, design & layout that offer me the opportunity to be creative while interfacing with the business community. In addition I am able to prepare commercial presentations and to project them as requested.

I have held many solo exhibits and participated in juried shows with my nature, botanical and scenic photographs. Individuals, schools and business offices have acquired my fine art photographs and my images have also been published in calendars, magazines and books. I am a member of NANPA, North American Nature Photography Association, & NAPP, National Association of Photoshop Professionals

My husband Cam and I, live with our two golden retrievers, “Bonnie” and “Baron” by the water in Chatham, MA. I maintain a working gallery/office where I welcome you to visit by appointment or to drop in by chance.
